No there can be a fifth since they changed the rules.

If Liverpool win this do they get the 4th place "Champions League" spot?

Had a bet with a mate who's a plastic scouser, that we'd qualify for champs league before them.

Our last game against Stoke is before the Europa league final, so if we finish fourth I've won my bet.

While teams like Liverpool and Man U have looked awfully disjointed this year, they have the money to bring in players (and keep good young ones) and managers that have the ability to turn it on. They are have what PD was alluding to, I think, a tradition of winning. As much as they over do aspects of that history is hugely important.

9,000 out of 36k?

Blimey, good to see they're as clueless as the cocks who dish out the tickets for FA cup finals over here.

Bit of luck Sevilla will get 3 in a row, but fair play to the scouse pricks, as they've certainly earnt this final with the teams they've had to play in the knock out stage.

Re: Tonight's Europa Semis 2nd leg
Just 9000 tickets for the final for the scousers. Black armband time, justice for the 9000 etc. Stand by for standard Liverpool behavior, either the killing of their own or others or selling fake tickets to their own. Scum. Hope Seville absolutely arsehole them on and off the pitch.

All that aside, what a shit venue for a European final! Laughable.

Fair play to them.
As much as I detest them they played a perfect match and harried Villarreal into a quivering mess.
Such a contrast to Man City the night before they played with tempo & heart and chased everything down.
Coming from comatose tippy tappy land Villarreal looked shell shocked to have people closing them down & tackling them like maniacs & completely went to pieces.

Perhaps a lesson for England & Hodgson as to the best and only way for them to succeed. High tempo & get stuck in. They don't like it up 'em should be the motto at the Euro's.

This is the thing with the bigger clubs, they find a way, the mentality just seems to be engrained in them. Liverppoool fans are 'deluded'and 'living in the past' apparantly, but 2 finals and a likely European trophy.....Man Utd, worse side in decades, but will probably win the FA Cup, something that we haven't done for 36 years.

A long long way for us to go still, but at least we seem to finally be on the right path.

I wanted this vermin to lose, BUT having all 4 finalists from Spain would have been very galling, at least we as a country are not made made to look completely like a bunch of over-rated tossers, particuarly after that disgrace by City on Wednesday.

I read on here plenty of posters saying this is the worst Liverpool side ever...just after we beat them....then they get to two finals.

Remember the domestic qualification is decided first.

I think we are talking past each other.

I don't think they have a spot now.

Re: Tonight's Europa Semis 2nd leg
Winners also qualify for European football with a place in the UEFA Europa League - although this place is transferred to the highest-placed Premier League team not already qualified for Europe, should the winner also qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season.

I see your point but I think you are wrong because your assuming Liverpool has got a Europa place on account of Man city winning the league cup but the actual place goes to the next league position NOT already qualified for European place....

I see that part timers Braintree won the away leg of their play off semi final up at Grimsby. They'll likely be playing Forest Green for a place in Division two.

Re: Tonight's Europa Semis 2nd leg
Ultimately we are only worried about 7th or 8th.

4th is now champs league whatever and 5th and 6th Europa.

No

3.06 The UEFA Europa League titleholder is admitted to the UEFA Champions League, at the entry stage determined by Article 3 of the Regulations of the UEFA Champions League.

If the UEFA Europa League title holder qualifies for the UEFA Europa League through one of its domestic competitions, the number of places to which its association is entitled in the UEFA Europa League is decreased by one.

Re: Tonight's Europa Semis 2nd leg
It would move down to 8th if they finished in one....

Yes because Liverpool finished out side the domestic Europa League places.

Romfordboy 11:39 Thu May 5
Re: Tonight's Europa Semis 2nd leg
Incorrect

An association can have 5 champions league places and 3 Europa league places

If the table ended today and Liverpool won the cup and Man U da cup

Leicester, Spurs, arsenal, Man city and Liverpool CL

Man Utd us and saints Europa
